At the risk of getting shackled and slapped into jail for taking illegal pictures of performing artists doing big gigs in Sydney on the weekend I'm posting this pic.
I have to say I was thrilled to have been there, but as is often the case one builds up such a huge head of expectation that it can be difficult for even a band of the calibre of U2 to exceed, or even actually meet such high hopes. All in all it was a great night, but I was a little disappointed... Too far away, didn't feel like the band connected with the audience, could have been the rain, could have been the first night in a new venue vibe... they played again there last night so I'm keen to hear from friends how it went... but it could have been just that I'm not as big of a U2 fan as I thought I was!
Ah well, I'm off to Billy Joel on Wednesday and having seen him in concert 3 times (mostly by accident... I'm not a HUGE fan... just so you know...) I have absolutely no expectations at all... I'll probably be buzzing on Thursday morning...
